I call beginner square dances (SSD) to plus dances, as well as round dances. I enjoy queuing with a variety of
music however I do prefer to stick to country music. I love calling because it’s a great way to bring
people and the community together while having a great time!
I started calling when I was 21 and called for 9 years before I took a break to raise my
family. My current club, the Country and Western Square Dance Club, started in my living room
when my girls wanted to learn how to square dance. The club was comprised of family and close
friends. It has since outgrown my living room and now we dance out of the Leefield Community Hall in
Edmonton on Thursdays. We hope to branch into round-dancing in the future!
I am on the committee for the national Square Dance convention of 2024.
Places I have called: Clubs in Edmonton, Fort Vermillion, Red Deer, Penticton, and various other small
communities in Alberta.
Conventions: Alberta Provincial Convention 2023.
Certificates: Completion of The Square and Round Dance Instructor of Alberta Caller School 2023.
